History

Dullon Duralloy comes from the planet Andromax, in the Earth constellation of Cancer. He used to be a favorite freelance agent for Emperor Kilgar of the Rylaxu Empire (a small empire of only 65 worlds). Dullon was a (reasonably) normal human until he volunteered for experimentation to "create the perfect killing machine." Dullon believes he is an augmented human and does not realize that his body has been changed on the molecular level to that of "living metal."

Dullon appears in all respects to be a normal Caucasian human being. He has brown hair (which he wears conservatively trimmed) and brown eyes. He's 6'2" tall and weights 190 lbs. Even sophisticated equipment will not determine that his body is composed of a living metal which perfectly mimics human flesh. This nature of his body enables him to infiltrate many areas where he might not otherwise be able to go. His entire body is resistant to damage (except his hair, one of the reasons he keeps it trimmed short is that it's always getting torn, burned, or otherwise mangled). His skin and flesh will "give" when pushed just like a normal humans, but at the point where a normal human would suffer tissue damage, Dullon's flesh becomes steel hard and stops "giving."  Example, if someone pushed on Dullons chest with their finger, Dullon's flesh would "give" a little. If Dullon were backed against a brick wall, the flesh of his chest and back would "give" to the limit where human flesh would suffer damage, and at that point would stop. Whomever was pushing on Dullon would feel like he was pushing on a normal person then suddenly feel like he was pushing on a block of steel. Note, however, that Dullon has no particular resistance to being knocked around by the energy of a blow (no "Knockback Resistance").

The empire has a new ruler and Dullon is considered wanted for crimes. He originally came to Earth to kill the President of the United States (whomever the President happened to be, the resulting confusing would weaken the Earth political structure and reduce defense against the classic alien invasion). Dullon has not had contact with the Empire to know that anything has changed - he does not know that intergalactic bounty hunters are out to get him, and it is reasonable to assume he still continues with his hidden agenda.

Since arriving on Earth, Dullon has made numerous contacts in the criminal and law enforcement agencies. He's a free-lancer; he operates as a bounty hunter, working to bring in criminals for money. He has participated in a confrontation against a giant robot set to destroy downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan and has also worked for the government to help clean out an old Genocide base that had a mutant bear lurking around in it. (The bear was later declared dead; cause of death "37 bullets to the head at point blank range.")

Dullon has reportedly been involved with other supers in other dimensions, but he has norecollection of this. His last known location was as a prisoner of Doctor Apocalypse on Nacht Island.

Combat Tactics

Shoot it until it stops moving. Then shoot it some more just to be sure. He is fearless, reckless and overconfident. He never retreats, but he understands the concept of a strategic maneuver and is (usually) careful about how his actions or decisions might affect his team members.

Notes about The Dullon, fiction for Empire of Dreams

It should be obvious that this character, as written, is a few magnitudes of power too weak to be "the Dullon."  We haven't done a character sheet for "the Dullon" as its power levels change over time, and we feel it really best to leave them a matter of myth and conjecture as that is an integral part of the stories.

Designer's notes: In the summer of 1993, I started up a GURPS game. This had followed on the heels of the locally infamous "Body Count" Shadowrun campaign GMed by Scott Frank. What I wanted was a character who was immune to as many things as possible. Damage resistant, didn't sleep, didn't need to eat or breath or worry about what the environment threatened with. Dullon emerged from that. Looking back, I guess Dullon is the proverbial "unstopable killing machine", with emphasis on the "unstoppable" part (after all, his ability to kill is limited by the weapons he uses). From that, of course, has arisen some fiction that I'm pretty proud of. Eventually, you can find some of it on line here. As a final note, Dullon had originally been designed as a 500-point character. As my campaign developed, I realized I needed to include the Unusual Background: Super advantage. There is no unsual background cost for the TL10 and TL12 skills, as Dullon does not have access to any TL10 or TL12 equipment and the high TL skills are actually less useful in a TL8 campaign world. As my concept of Dullon evolved, I added the Body of Metal and Enhanced Strength super-advantages. I'm extremely satisified with the final result.
