The LQR-571 is an older model drone which was designed for one purpose: destruction of opposing vehicles on the road. The LQR-571 is capable of being launched from a stationary or moving vehicle. It can track a target vehicle by visual scan (Passive IR and Light Amplification), but is most effective when the target has been bugged with a homing beacon which broadcasts a short range signal that the LQR can track. The usual tactic is for the drone to position itself directly under the passenger or power plant compartment of the target vehicle, and then detonate the 58mm explosive charge. This charge is sufficient to destroy most civilian vehicles and anyone inside them.
The most expensive part of the LQR is the software, which like the entire system becomes less expensive at higher TLs. The LQR-571 is most often used by organized crime, but also sees use by military and civilian police forces.
