Obviously the 16th in a series of anthologies published by Ms. Bradley, I look forward to reading some of her other works. This 306-page work contains 26
short stories. All of them are very enjoyable. Each story has a woman, or women, as the protagonist. In fact, very few men appear in the book. These women are each confronted with a
unique problem or situation that must be solved. Some problems are small and personal, while others affect entire nations or tribes. All have a fantasy backdrop in which magic is
a real force in life, although not always one which can be understood by humans. |
