The New Conquerors

Introduction:  The New Conquerors are a very old, very powerful group of villains.  In their youth, they were glory-seeking bloodthirsty mercenaries.  Today, they are more mature and largely interested in attaining Justice through more subtle means.

Membership:  Ego Prime, Honeybee, Lomax Kijarat, Matrix, Ms. Fist, Mysa, Rogue, Taurus

Origin and History:  The New Conquerors were formed in 1985 by Lomax Kijarat (aka Norman Streeter). At the time, his goals were very simple - to make a lot of money and deliver a little justice. However, over the years (and as he made a lot of money), he has matured, and now the NC are somewhat "ethical villains" or "anti-heroes" like Bullets Raiders. Until they completed their orbital space station, they operated from a secret base in Manhattan. Their confrontations with the Manhattan Challengers are the stuff of urban legend.

In their early years they cultivated an image as being ruthless and violent. However, they have changed their tactics, and today they specialize in bodyguard and object recovery, but are also good at covert operations and tactics (like assassination and guerilla warfare). They are careful about who they work for, however, and their more clandestine work is now performed only in politically unstable countries.  Despite that, their reputation follows them and they often exploit that fact.

True to Kijarat's original visions of justice, they also collect bounties on wanted criminals all over the world. Within the Western World, at least, they want to remain in the grey area between "good citizen" and "criminal."

The New Conquerors and Eurostar have battled on four separate occasions, both before and after Eurostar added its provisional members. To date, all the fights have been inconclusive, and while bloody there have been no permanent injuries.

Goals:  Justice.  Kijarat personally stalks the evil scum of the Earth.  Ms. Fist collates data gleaned from the world's computer networks.  Mysa defends the Earth dimension against interdimensional invaders.  The others largely follow their lead.

Team Tactics:  Only rarely will the entire team be encountered.  However, the mindlink provided by Ego Prime, and the teleportation powers of Matrix mean that an encounter with one New Conqueror could turn into an encounter with the entire team in a matter of seconds.  Typically they will divide in to two teams, the Red team and the Gold team.  The Red Team consists of Honeybee, Mysa, Rogue and Taurus.  The Gold Team is Ego Prime, Kijarat, and Ms. Fist.  Matrix sits at the base watching the world go by until called upon to teleport one of his teammates.

When Red Team goes in to action, Rogue and Taurus are front line fighters, mixing it up directly with the enemy and sowing havoc as they toss opponents around and back and forth.  A common tactic is for Taurus to throw an opponent up, and for Honeybee to shoot the victim with her needles.  Honeybee stays back a bit, using her needles to tear apart enemy mentalists and energy-projectors.  Mysa provides support and covering fire.

Gold Team gets more subtle work.  Ms. Fist will plow in to an enemy attempting to draw their attention away from Kijarat and Ego Prime.  Ego Prime will concentrate on mind controlling enemy bricks and energy projectors, while Kijarat concentrates on the enemy mentalists.

Relations:  The team members are both friends and professional business partners.  The team is on good terms with Reaver, Armadillo, Headshot, Esper, Rainbow Archer, Void, Mechassassin, Pathfinder, Utility and the Ultimates.  They have negative relations with just about everyone else, and piss poor relations with Eurostar, Bullets Raiders, Manhattan Challengers, Deathstroke, and Battlesuit.  Esper, Rainbow Archer and Void are former "contract employees" of the New Conquerors.  Battlesuit is a former technician working for the NC who stole several valuable pieces of equipment in the early years.

Kijarat and Ego Prime also run a private investigations firm called Finders, Inc.  Mysa and Rogue often hang out together on a social basis.

Scenario Use:  The New Conquerors have a secret arrangement with the city of Paris to defend it if Eurostar attacks.

Creator's Notes:  Ken Solo deserves a lot of credit for all the abuse he and his Challengers suffered at the hands of the New Conquerors.

Partial History of the New Conquerors
July, 1985 Norman Streeter quits his job with a U.S. Army civilian contractor and steals the prototypes of his work.
August, 1985 Lomax Kijarat (Streeter) forms the New Conquerors. He recruits Ms. Fist, Taurus, Rogue and Honeybee. He hires Esper (Classic Enemies), Ankylosaur (Classic Enemies), Blur and Void for extra muscle.
August, 1985 The New Conquerors attack a late night talk show, during a live broadcast. Unknown was that Archer, Dark Warrior, White Dwarf and Starfire of the Manhattan Challengers are in attendance in secret identity. Despite their experience, the Challengers are startled by the ferocity of the N.C. and lose the battle. However, the N.C. retreat having accomplished their goal of gaining publicity.

This marks the beginning of the rivalry between the New Conquerors and the Manhattan Challengers.

October, 1985 The N.C. launch in to their "master plan" to attack/rob organizations, the first letters of whose company names or products will spell out "New Conquerors". They attack Dan Rather on the NBC Evening News. (N)

Two days later, they attack Emerson Electronics (E). However, the Challengers again arrive and in an inconclusive battle, drive off the N.C.

December, 1985 The N.C. attempt to rob Weygandt Industrial Products (W). They are confronted by the M.P. and the independent hero White Fly. Despite losing the fight, they steal the experimental equipment they were after.
March, 1986 N.C. raid the Chinese Embassy in New York City (C). Again they are confronted by the M.P. The conflict is inconclusive. Provisional N.C. member Flak severely wounds Gargantua and gets kicked by the 75' giant. Flak takes a long vacation in a prison hospital and never works with the N.C. again.

Due to repeated confrontations with the M.P., and the fact that no one can figure out that the N.C. are trying to spell out "New Conquerors" as a PR move, the N.C. stop their "master plan" to rethink their strategies.

August, 1986 Taurus discovers American football. He tries to convince other supers to form a supers-only football team.
January, 1987 Taurus and Powerhouse host a Superbowl party at Sanctuary.
February, 1987 Lomax Kijarat, working with Reaver develops the "foosbots" for Taurus to have someone to play football with. The foosbots are designed to be inexpensive to build and replace. Kijarat sells them on the open market to recover development costs.

Ms. Fist is contracted by a Japanese publishing company to do a 16-month swimsuit calendar. The calendar is extremely controversial (Ms. Fist is a hero in some countries and a vile villain in others). Intended only for the Japanese market, the company is overwhelmed with requests from all over the world.

April, 1988 Ms. Fist and Rogue get in a fight with Durak and Bora of Eurostar. Durak breaks Ms. Fist's right arm.
December, 1988 Ms. Fist begins to study boxing. Rogue studies boxing and American football; she becomes Taurus' number one sparring partner.
December, 1988 Mysa arrives on Earth. She joins the N.C. on a provisional basis.
March, 1989 Mysa, Rogue and Kijarat visit the Reverend Elder in Bhutan. The Elder, lacking an apprentice "tests" the three members of the N.C. and they are now technically magical adepts. (q.v. Mystic Masters)
May, 1989 Tyrannon the Conqueror makes his move against the Confluence (q.v. Mystic Masters). Jarth attacks the Elder's new "pupils" (Mysa, Rogue and Kijarat). The N.C. assemble and defeat Tyrannon's plans.
August, 1989 N.C. members Esper, Void, Ankylosaur and Blur leave. Pathfinder joins on a provisional basis.
September, 1989 Ego Prime, Mysa and Matrix join the New Conquerors.
October, 1989 Construction of orbiting space station base begun. Using Raven launch facilities in the Chinese Himalayas.
March, 1990 The N.C. and Eurostar square off in Dresden, Germany when their agendas cross. Ms. Fist and Rogue double-team Durak, breaking three of his ribs and cracking two of his vertebrae. Fiacho and Pathfinder battle hand-to-hand for over ten minutes - Pathfinder's enhanced strength and dexterity compensating for Fiacho's experience. Panterra nearly disembowels Honeybee. The conflict between the two superteams is inconclusive as both sides retreat from the U.S. Army.

Pathfinder leaves the N.C. on good terms.

November, 1990 Mysa and Rogue are ambushed by Eurostar while on a shopping trip in Paris, France. Fiacho wants to send a message to the N.C. by killing their newest member. With her dying breath, Mysa directs Rogue to take her to the Reverend Elder.   The Reverend Elder instructs Rogue, Ego Prime and Taurus on how to recover Mysa's soul from the realm of the dead. While there, they stop an alien plan to destroy the Earth. (q.v. Mystic Masters)   Meanwhile, Kijarat, Ms. Fist and Honeybee track Eurostar. Kijarat calls in some favors and Pulsar, Armadillo, Void, Mechassassin, Bulldozer, Oculon, and the Ultimates launch a surprise attack against Eurostar. Eurostar is beaten to a pulp and Fiacho and Kijarat reach a mutual "gentleman's agreement" to leave each other alone.
November, 1991 Bora and White Flame, unsatisfied with the results of their last confrontation with the NC, ambush Taurus and Ego Prime in Hong Kong.  This action invalidates the "gentleman's agreement" between the two teams.
January, 1992 The N.C. raid Eurostar's base to capture them for the bounty money. The slugfest between Durak and Ms. Fist destroys half the base. Ego Prime and Mentalla swear undying hatred of each other. Honeybee nearly disembowels Panterra.  Pulsar, Mechassassin and Void were hired by the N.C. for extra muscle. Void stole a whip from Whip.
March, 1993 Ms. Fist is again contracted by the Japanese publishing company to produce a 16-month swimsuit calendar.  This one is printed in both a Japanese and English version and is more successful than the 1987 calendar.
June, 1995 An unauthorized "electronic" 12-month Ms. Fist calendar appears on the Internet. It has been assembled from video footage and still photos, creating a collage of her entire career. The developer originally requests a fee for his work, but after Ms. Fist tracks him down (the Internet is simply a big computer network) and visits him (he's a 30-year old accountant with a wife and two kids) he agrees to change two of the images and distribute the calendar for free.
August, 1996 "Babes of the New Conquerors" 18-month calendar released. It features swimsuit pictures of Rogue, Ms. Fist, Ego Prime and Mysa. Printed in French, English and Japanese, it is an underground success despite the efforts of several governments to ban it.

Notes about Foosbots

Foosbots are simple robots, standing 10' tall, weighing nearly two tons and heavily armored.  They have limited program capacity, but make excellent combat training robots and mindless bodyguards.
