Maybe I'm just developing an affectation for superheroes (obviously patric's influence) but I thought this movie was actually rather cute and fun.
I thought Captain Amazing deserved a better fate (Greg Kinnear is kinda cute, and he's come a long way since Later), but I can see how it was important to the story line. This is a character movie, and they do a fantastic job of giving these characters personalities that the audience can easily
relate to. The plot and villains are loosely strung together, with some holes that have to be skipped over. However, the character development is great and Janeane Garofalo displays her classic sense of comic timing and is a lot of fun in this movie. It would have been good without the Spleen, but they worked him in pretty well without over-doing it.
